Herringbone parquet flooring being laid in a London home by PrimeCraft Surface Solutions

Flooring

Floor supply and fitting across London, starting with a subfloor that's genuinely level.

Engineered and solid wood, herringbone, parquet, natural stone, porcelain and LVT. The base is levelled and moisture-checked first, so the finished floor sits flat, feels solid and stays put for years.

What we lay

It's only as goodas what's underneath.

Engineered wood

01

Engineered wood

Wide-plank oak and other species with a real hardwood top layer — stable enough to lay over underfloor heating and over screed, glued down or floating to suit your subfloor. The everyday choice for most London floors.

Solid wood

02

Solid wood

Solid oak and hardwood boards for rooms where you want a floor that can be sanded back and refinished many times over the years. Best over a stable timber subfloor, and kept clear of underfloor heating, where movement is a problem.

Herringbone and parquet

03

Herringbone and parquet

The classic London pattern, set out from the centre of the room and laid block by block by hand, in oak, walnut or smoked tones — for new floors or to extend and repair existing parquet.

Stone and porcelain

04

Stone and porcelain

Limestone, travertine and large-format porcelain for kitchens, hallways and bathrooms — over a properly levelled and decoupled base so the tiles don't lift or crack, with straight grout lines and neat cuts at the edges.

Luxury vinyl (LVT)

05

Luxury vinyl (LVT)

Tough vinyl in wood and stone looks — warm underfoot, water-resistant and quiet — a sensible floor for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms, laid over a smooth, level base.

Floor sanding and restoration

06

Floor sanding and restoration

Original boards and parquet lifted, repaired, gap-filled, sanded, stained and sealed — missing pieces replaced with matched reclaimed timber — with proper dust extraction so the rest of the house isn't coated.

Flooring questions

Beforeyou start.

  • A wood or vinyl floor over a 40–60 m² London ground floor is usually three to five days with subfloor prep included. Hand-laid herringbone or parquet runs longer — roughly six to ten days over that area — because the pattern is set out and laid block by block. Tile and stone depend on the prep and the setting-out. We give you a dated plan at the quote stage so you know when the room comes back into use.
